MEDCON’23 was a two-day conference held on October 7th and 8th at Ivana Javakhishvili State University in Tbilisi, Georgia, centered around the theme "RESUSCITATE." Attracting over a hundred participants, it became one of Georgia's largest student conferences, supported by major sponsors including Universitas Tphilisensis and Global Consortium of Medical Education and Research (GCMER).
The first day featured various speakers discussing topics related to Emergency Medicine, including the use of AI in triage by Anushka Sen, and condition-specific talks on pancreatitis and takotsubo cardiomyopathy by Dr. Kate Kapanadze. Other presentations included pediatric emergency insights from Dr. Fikria Zhvaniya and neurosurgical techniques by Dr. Koka Gogichashvili. Participants also engaged in abstract poster presentations and workshops covering gynecology, trauma life support, suturing, and mental health emergencies.
Day two continued with in-depth discussions on ultrasound in emergency practice by Dr. Tina Makharadze and a range of emergencies in obstetrics, trauma, urology, and infectious diseases presented by various experts. The event concluded with workshops on suturing and toxicology, leaving attendees enriched with knowledge and networking opportunities.
Overall, MEDCON’23 was a successful learning adventure that provided valuable insights into emergency medicine and practical skills for future medical professionals.
